Zenless Zone Zero is the latest free-to-play action role-playing game from miHoYo and has since garnered over 50 million players in less than a week from its global launch. Philippine cosplayers Myrtle Sarrosa, Shin Gonzaga, and Roxanne Kho teamed up to release a Zenless Filipino version music video for Zenless Zone Zero.
Zenless is produced by Zenless Zone Zero‘s music team Sān-Z, grammy award-winner Tiësto, and Dutch EDM duo Lucas & Steve, with vocals from Silent Child. What better way to provide some local fan service than see some of the Philippines’ biggest cosplayers perform a Filipino mix of the song. Produced by Brian Lotho, Rangel Fernandez and Myrtle Sarrosa and developed by 79th Film Productions, the Zenless music video is a great mix of cosplay showcase and visual spectacle.
Those who play the game already may recognize Myrtle Sarrosa as Nicole Derama, Shin Gonzaga as Ellen Joe, and Roxanne Kho as Zhu Yuan. This is the closest we’ll get to a live action adaptation of ZZZ as we see them perform iconic moves while fighting off enemies you can find in-game.
Since July 4 of this year, millions of players in Windows, iOS, Android and PlayStation 5 have been enjoying Zenless Zone Zero with critics praising it for its narrative strengths, combat gameplay, and a completely new look compared to miHoYo’s past works while still being visually stunning. It’s character designs, as I’m sure you’ll notice from the music video, mixes a lot of industrial and modern elements to create a fresh aesthetic, separate from the usually fantasy we’ve come to get used to in titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
It’s great to see local artists, production studios, and cosplayers gets a huge collaboration with the likes of miHoYo. The Philippine gaming landscape definitely contains a massive fanbase for the brand and here’s to hoping even more team ups like the Zenless Filipino version music video happen again in the future.
