Acer just unveiled the Nitro Blaze 7, an AI-powered 7-inch handheld gaming device that headlines their foray into the portable gaming space. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, it comes packed with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a max boost speed of 5.1 GHz. With the introduction of AI capabilities, including 38 AI TOPS, this new handheld aims to deliver smooth, responsive gameplay–alongside the expected multitasking.
The Nitro Blaze 7 features a full HD 1080p display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color coverage alongside AMD FreeSync Premium technology. With this combination, we could be looking at some smooth, tear-free gaming. A sweet 7ms response time could contribute to some fluid, fast-paced gameplay.
As for storage, we’re getting up to 2TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD–which is absolutely bananas, if it will be included in their entry-level variant. In terms of RAM, we have 16GB of LPDDR5x memory running at 7500MHz, which should be the standard.
Weighing only 670g, the Nitro Blaze 7 looks to be a hefty, but not-so-cumbersome handheld device. Supporting Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, we should be looking at some smooth online play and streaming, for as long as you have a powerful enough ISP.
Lastly, it comes with Acer Game Space, where users can easily access all their favorite platforms and games in one convenient hub. Additionally, the device comes with three months of PC Game Pass, providing access to a variety of high-quality games.
It’s nice to see that the handheld console competition is raging on. As of now, we only have the specs via Acer’s dedicated page, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information in the near future.
