Astro Bot fans are in for a treat soon as the game’s director Nicolas Doucet confirmed that free DLC for the game is on the way.
To be exact, Doucet revealed in an interview with Quest Daily that Team Asobi is working on upcoming DLC for the game. These will include speedruns along with new VIP Bots. When asked about leaderboards for speedruns, Doucent responded that this is also in the works.
Of course, players shouldn’t expect large-scale DLC as Team Asobi is focusing more on speedruns. As such, players shouldn’t expect brand-new levels, though speedruns should be great. After all, the game’s levels are short and have lots of creative platforming scenarios that make them perfect for speedrunning.
As for VIP bots, we should see other popular characters, many of which were hinted at in the game’s credits. As spotted by Gematsu, the game’s credits lists the following trademarks:
- Assassin’s Creed (Ubisoft)
- Beyond Good & Evil (Ubisoft)
- Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Argonaut Games)
- Rayman (Ubisoft)
- Rise of the Ronin (Koei Tecmo)
- Stellar Blade (SHIFT UP)
- Worms (Team17)
It’s not clear how these VIP Bots will be added, though we might see them as bonuses for speedruns, or maybe even in shorter bonus levels. As such, players who want to collect all the things in the game should watch out for future updates.
