It has been a year since the last RGG Studio showcase, and finally, Like a Dragon fans can look forward to RGG Summit 2024 which is happening on September 20.
Yakuza series fans were spoiled last year as there were two RGG Summit events last year, but that was because the franchise got multiple games in 2023 and early 2024. Specifically, these games are Like a Dragon: Ishin in early 2023, Like a Dragon Gaiden in late 2023, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth earlier this year.
Since the release of Infinite Wealth, things have been fairly quiet for the series, and as such, there will only be one RGG Summit this year. Still, it promises to be an exciting one as RGG Summit streams are typically where the studio announces the latest games in the series, so we might just see the next Yakuza game.
This year’s RGG Summit is happening on September 20 at 6:00 PM PH time (that’s 3 AM Pacific Time). The stream will go live here:
For now, it’s not clear what RGG Studio will announce at the showcase, though it should be safe to assume that we’ll get more details on Yakuza Kiwami for the Switch, along with the upcoming live-action adaptation on Prime Video.
Fingers crossed though that we get at least a teaser of Like a Dragon 9, or at the very least a spinoff.
