Following its announcement back in November last year, the romance anime Blue Box finally has an official release date on Netflix.
Specifically, the upcoming anime got a new trailer recently that showed off more clips and revealed the show’s opening and ending theme songs. Plus, the trailer also revealed that Blue Box will premiere in Japan on October 3, 2024.

The songs for this new series should delight many anime fans. After all, the opening song “Same Blue” is performed by Official HiGE DANDISM, the band behind songs for Spy x Family and Tokyo Revengers. Meanwhile, the ending song “Teenage Blue” is by Eve of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 fame.
Soon after the trailer’s release, it was revealed that Blue Box will also premiere on Netflix on October 3. This was confirmed via the Netflix Anime X (formerly Twitter) account which announced the show’s premiere date with an official visual.
Note that the October 3 release is only for select countries, meaning Netflix subscribers in other territories might have to wait until October 4 before the series premieres.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Blue Box is an upcoming romance/sports anime by Telecom Animation Film, and it’s based on an ongoing Shonen Jump manga of the same name.
Its story follows Taiki Inomata, a high school student who is part of his school’s badminton team. Everyday, Taiki trains with his crush Chinatsu Kano, a member of the high school girls’ basketball team. Soon, Chinatsu moves in with Taiki’s family as her parents need to leave the country for work. Thus, their relationship blossoms as they continue to train for their respective championships.
Aside from Blue Box, anime fans should also watch out for the premiere of Dandadan on Netflix this October.
