Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launches on September 9

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is finally coming out in a few days, and ahead of its release, more info about its storyline was revealed.

In case you missed it, this upcoming game is a sequel to the 2011 Space Marine action game for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It may have taken over a decade, but Warhammer 40K fans can finally enjoy more intense action in the series’ grimdark universe.

For those who want a refresher, or for those unfamiliar with the game’s premise, its story and main protagonist is described as:

Titus was born on the Agri-World of Tarentus in Ultramar. He was recruited by the Chapter and passed initial training and joined the Ultramarines, Titus has served the imperium for more than 150 years in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Combat was as natural as breathing, and his spirit soared knowing that he was fighting a holy battle against the enemies of the Imperium.
In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 1, Captain Titus and a company of Ultramarines are sent to the Forge World of Graia to stop an Ork invasion. However, the imperial weapon, the Pyschic Scourge was used to initiate a massive Chaos invasion on Graia, led by Nemeroth. Titus eventually slaughtered Nemeroth and destroyed the Power Source to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
This victory revealed Titus’ unprecedented resistance to the corruption of Chaos. This raised suspicions among the Inquisition, who decided to detain him for closer investigation. After decades of interrogation, Titus’ guilt was never established, and he served in the renowned Deathwatch to find redemption and prove his loyalty under the watchful eye of the Inquisition. He is now reunited with his original chapter, the Ultramarines, and reinstated as a Lieutenant.

In Asia, the game will be released on PS5 in physical editions by Game Source Entertainment (GSE). The physical disc version will come in two versions, the first being the standard edition which includes the following:
