Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred teams up with Camila Cabello and Spider-Man director for live action trailer

Hype for the Diablo 4 expansion continues to build with a new live action trailer!

Diablo 4 is about to get its first major expansion in a couple of days and to celebrate, Blizzard has released a live action trailer in collaboration with Latin Grammy® Award-winning artist Camila Cabello and the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts.

When it comes to trailers, Blizzard knows what’s up. Visuals and action are always on point. For the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred live action trailer, it shows a glimpse on how Neyrelle is doing in her journey to Nahantu while having to carry around the Soulstone. Spoiler alert: not that great. For those of you who know what happens at the end of the Diablo 4 campaign, Vessel of Hatred is a direct follow up and it’s looking like it’ll double down on the base game’s grim tone—which is fantastic to see.

The trailer also gives a live look at the new Diablo 4 class coming with the Vessel of Hatred expansion, the Spiritborn as a group of them fight off hordes of demons. It’s a bunch of cool action complimented with a showcase of the different animal-tied abilities. You probably know director Jon Watts from the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movies but now he’s handling the devil’s spawns themselves. Just a slight change in tone. Camila Cabello’s vocals can be heard as she performs a rendition of “Behind Blue Eyes” to round out the trailer. It also helps that both of them are fans of the material.

“I’ve been playing Diablo since I was a teen and know the world really well, so when they asked me to direct the project, I was all in,” said Watts. Cabello then added “I’m so excited to bring ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ to Sanctuary in a fresh, new way… Not only is this song a classic and a perfect representation of what Neyrelle is going through in Vessel of Hatred, but it’s also a song that so many can identify with. Working with the Diablo team was a legendary experience, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear how we’ve reimagined a classic.”

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8, 2024 on Windows® PC via Battle.net, Xbox Game Pass, and Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4 and Steam.
