Tech company Huawei Philippines recently unveiled the HUAWEI WATCH D2, featuring Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) capabilities. The device, priced at PHP 19,999, is available for pre-order from October 14 to October 24.
Medical expert Dr. Lyien Ho emphasizes the watch’s significance in addressing a major health concern. “Hypertension is a significant health concern as it poses major risks for cardiovascular diseases,” she notes. “It is often called a ‘silent killer’ because it may not present noticeable symptoms until complications arise, making regular monitoring crucial.”
“In the Philippines, hypertension is an urgent public health issue due to its rising prevalence and the associated complications that contribute to morbidity and mortality,” Dr. Ho adds.
The WATCH D2 enables continuous blood pressure monitoring throughout the day and night, featuring an ultra-narrow mechanical airbag and HUAWEI’s slimmest blood pressure monitor. Users can set measurement intervals between 15 to 60 minutes during both waking and sleeping hours.
Beyond blood pressure monitoring, the device measures nine vital health indicators in 90 seconds, including heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and skin temperature. It also offers Beat-by-Beat ECG Analysis and Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis for heart health monitoring.
The smartwatch comes with over 80 sport modes and features a 1.82-inch screen with a 2.5D floating design. Available in black and gold, it boasts a battery life of up to six days on a single charge and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
The pre-order period for the HUAWEI WATCH D2 runs from October 14 to October 2. Pre-order online exclusively on Shopee, HUAWEI Online Stores, Lazada and Tiktok, from October 14 to October 17. The in-store pre-order period begins October 18 to October 24 at HUAWEI Experience Stores and authorized dealers nationwide. The watch is valued at PHP 19,999.
