Lenovo recently highlighted its recent workplace inclusion and community initiatives for Filipino PWDs and women, in alignment with the brand’s global 18th annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report. Along with these inclusivity projects, Lenovo also held activities for Filipino students.
To be exact, local efforts by Lenovo’s Women in Lenovo Leadership has helped achieved 20% female executive representation by offering training and mentorship programs in the company. What’s more, 61% of Lenovo Philippines’ employees are women which represents a significant number, especially at a global level.
Lenovo has also partnered with Ashoka and Virtualahan, a Davao-based nongovernmental organization (NGO), to help employees develop their digital skillset.
“Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our mission in the Philippines. By fostering a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve, we are better positioned to innovate and address the needs of our customers in the Philippine market. We remain firmly committed to creating opportunities for everybody, including women and individuals with disabilities, to thrive in the tech industry and contribute to our overall nation’s growth,” said Michael Ngan, President and General Manager of Lenovo Philippines, Inc.
Along with inclusivity efforts, Lenovo also has outreach programs like the recent STEM activity for students at Better World Smokey Mountain, Tondo, Manila last September 20 2024. During the event, students were taught about meal preparation, composting, and water filtration through the use of kits. The participants also got to enjoy a storytelling activity and toy drive.
Finally, Lenovo has also highlighted its environmental commitment. Since 2017, Lenovo has grown its reuse and recycling of products by nearly 40%. Plus, Lenovo has also continued to host cleanup programs in countries like the PHilippines.
