Max is officially launching in the Philippines this November: Plans revealed

HBO GO will soon become Max in the Philippines and other select Asian regions.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently announced that the streaming service Max will finally be released in the Philippines this November.

For a couple of years now, the Max streaming service hasn’t been available officially in Asia. Instead, HBO GO is Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service for the region. Now, that’s about to change as Max is coming to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore,  Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong on November 19.

With this change, viewers can still expect a similar lineup of movies in shows on the platform, including plenty of HBO Originals, along with notable movies from Warner Bros.

Pricing for Max in the Philippines hasn’t been revealed yet, but Warner Bros. Discovery did reveal the plan details. In the region, there will be three plans to choose from, including:

Mobile

  • Stream on 1 mobile device at once
  • Standard HD video resolution
  • Watch only on mobile phone and tablet
  • 15 downloads to watch on the go

The Mobile plan is available in Indonesia, Philippines, and via select providers in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.

Standard

  • Stream on 2 devices at once
  • Full HD video resolution
  • Watch on more devices, including TVs
  • 30 downloads to watch on the go

Ultimate

  • Stream on 4 devices at once
  • 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos as available
  • Watch on more devices, including TVs
  • 100 downloads to watch on the go (limits apply)

Max will launch in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong on November 19. More details about the streaming service will be shared in the coming weeks leading up to the official launch.
