Nintendo files trademarks for potential hotel and restaurant

We might be getting a Nintendo restaurant or cafe in the future.

After opening its museum in Kyoto recently, Nintendo recently filed applications for Class 43 trademarks that seem to indicate hotel and restaurant operations may be happening soon.

Recently, Chinzai Watch noted that Nintendo has filed these trademarks that also come with text renderings of popular imagery from Animal Crossing, Splatoon, and Super Smash Bros. The trademark class covers hotel and restaurant services, meaning there may be new hospitality operations from Nintendo soon.

The trademark filings are intended for the following uses:

“Provision of lodging facilities, lodging facility contract mediation or intermediation functions, hotel reservation intermediation, provision of food and beverages, provision of food and beverages within a restaurant, provision of food and beverages within a bar, provision of accommodation for animals, infant/toddler daycare, provision of non-nursing residential facilities for senior citizens, provision of conference rooms, futon provision, furniture provision, provision of table linens or glassware, provision of towels”

While Nintendo continues to be a gaming powerhouse, it has expanded in recent years with the Super Nintendo World theme park area in Universal Studios Japan, along with the recently opened Nintendo Museum. There’s also the fact that more official Nintendo stores have been opened in Japan in recent years, including the big store in Daimaru Osaka.

As such, it won’t be surprising to see Nintendo open an official hotel or restaurant soon as that will no doubt see many domestic and international fans visit.
