Global consumer tech brand realme is set to drop their latest gaming-focused smartphones from the realme 13 series 5G, on October 24. Coming off the heels of a successful launch for the more photo-centric Pro series, the new lineup, which includes the realme 13+ 5G and realme 13 5G models, has already secured its position as the Official Gaming Smartphone for the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship.
The 13+ features the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy processor, capable of supporting frame rates of 90FPS or higher. The device introduces Geek Power Tuning, allowing users to customize CPU and GPU speeds for optimal gaming performance.
Professional gamers hyped up the device’s capabilities. “Ang galing kasi ang bilis makakeep-up ni realme sa needs ng mga mobile gamers kagaya ko. Pag naglalaro ng mobile games, sobrang importante na smooth yung experience. Malaking bagay yung nakakasunod sa pace ng laro yung device,” says Pheww from Falcons AP Bren.
Both models come equipped with realme’s GT Mode, which optimizes gaming performance. The 13+ 5G supports 90fps or higher, while the realme 13 5G handles 60fps or higher, depending on the game. The 80W SUPERVOOC Charge technology in the 13+ 5G can charge to 50% in 19 minutes and reach full charge in 44 minutes, maintaining 80% battery health even after 1,000 charging cycles.
Battery life is crucial for professional players. As AP Bren’s Pando notes, “Sobrang importante ng battery life kasi sa isang araw ilang games ang nilalaro namin. Pag madali malowbat ang phone, hassle para samin lalo na during training. Yung scrims namin inaabot ng ilang oras.”
The series features a Vapor Chamber Cooling System, which has impressed professional players OhmyV33nus and Wise. “Ngayon na lang ulit ako gumamit ng Android phone for gaming and I could say na sobrang advance na talaga ng realme phones now, especially the realme 13+ 5G. Sobrang smooth niya for MOBA games,” says OhmyV33nus. Wise adds, “Less overheat yung realme 13+ 5G which is yung pinaka-nagustuhan ko sa kanya. Yan kasi problem ko now with the current phone na ginagamit ko especially during long gaming sessions.”
The series showcases a Victory Speed Design with the realme 13 5G available in Speed Green and Dark Purple, while the realme 13+ 5G comes in Victory Gold and Dark Purple. Both phones include 38 safety protections for charging, including overvoltage protection and fireproof design.
