Meet the Main characters of Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
While RGG Studio has revealed some details about the game over the past month, the studio has now given us lots of new info on the game’s main characters. Aside from their backstories, the voice actors of each character are also confirmed.
Here’s a rundown of all the key characters in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii:
Goro Majima (VA: Hidenari Ugaki) – Patriarch of the Former Tojo Clan’s Majima Family. A violent yakuza known as the Mad Dog of Shimano.
After finding himself marooned on the remote Rich Island, a young local named Noah saves his life. To regain his lost memories and fulfill Noah’s dream of seeing the world, he sets sail for adventure.
Noah Rich (VA: First Summer Uika) – Local Boy on Rich Island
A boy from Rich Island who is brimming with curiosity. He saved Majima’s life by giving him some water. Even though his father forbids him from leaving the island due to a chronic illness, Noah yearns to see the outside world.
Jason Rich (VA: Kenji Matsuda) – A Former Treasure Hunter Who, Despite Being a Drunkard, is Still a True Sea Dog.
Noah’s father and the owner of the sole bar on Rich Island. As a former treasure hunter, he once sailed a ship around the world in search of riches. Now, he’s rarely even sober during the day.
Masaru Fujita (VA: Ryuji Akiyama (Robert)) – A Skilled Chef for Hire Who’s Sailed the Seas on a Long Line of Pirate Ships.
A bodyguard and chef who runs the kitchen of a pirate ship anchored at Rich Island.
His wits and humor make him the life of the party. Due to his incredible brawn and fighting prowess, some joke that he’s a better bodyguard than a chef.
Teruhiko Shigaki (VA: Munetaka Aoki) – An Ex-yakuza Volunteering to Clean Up Pollution on Nele Island.
An ex-Tojo Clan patriarch. He is caring and excels as a negotiator. After the Great Dissolution, he came to Hawaii as a volunteer to clean up the nuclear waste on Nele Island.
Rodriguez (VA: Ayumi Tanida) – A Burly Warrior Who Guards Nele Island, Palekana’s Holy Site, with His Massive Sword.
One of the Palekana elite disciples, also known as the Haku. Although many Haku have begun migrating from Nele Island due to the arrest of Bryce, Palekana’s previous Sage, he stays to deal with the nuclear waste cleanup.
Mortimer (VA: Shunsuke Daitoh) – A Handsome Pirate with a Charismatic Persona Who Inspires Fervor in the Lowlifes Around Him.
The champion of Madlantis’s Pirates’ Coliseum. His abilities live up to the name he’s made for himself. There seems to be a bitter history between him, Jason, and Masaru.
Noah’s Little Friend – An Adorable Cat (?) that Noah found on Rich Island. Goro (VA: Kazuhiro Nakaya)
An adorable little cat (?) that escaped from some ship and made his way to Rich Island, where Noah found him. Since they met, the two have been inseparable. For some reason, Majima and Masaru insist that Goro is a tiger.
Moana Rich (VA: Reina Ueda) – The Face of the Rich Island Bar. Jason’s Daughter and Noah’s Big Sister
Moana works diligently at the bar every day, her cheerful demeanor always livening up the establishment. Thanks to her, the bar manages to stay afloat despite its lack of customers. Although, there is a distinct age gap between her and Noah, the two get along well.
Naomi Rich (VA: Yoko Hikasa) – Secretary and Bodyguard. Queen Michele’s Muscle and Protector
Daughter to Jason and older sister to Noah and Moana. After attending university in Honolulu, Jason has lost track of her whereabouts.
Queen Michele (VA: Romi Park) – Ruler of Madlantis. Brought Back the Age of Discovery
One of the leaders of Madlantis. When she was young, she gained notoriety as the belle of Hawaii’s criminal underworld. Her aristocratic taste led her to create the Pirates’ Coliseum. A swarm of subordinates accompany her wherever she goes.
Raymond Law (VA: Miou Tanaka) – The Pirate King. Manages the Money on Madlantis.
A magnate who earned the moniker “Pirate King”. Together with Queen Michele, he rules over Madlantis. After the Queen came up with the idea for the Pirates’ Coliseum, he signed on as manager and turned it into a profitable business.
The New Locations and Factions
Players will meet these characters throughout the game’ various intriguing locales. While the Hawaii map from Infinite Wealth will be used again in this game, Pirate Yakuza also has an array of new locations, with each location being the home of certain factions.
Here are the three new locations and their respective factions:
- Rich Island
- The remote island that Majima washes ashore on after losing his memories. A boy named Noah Rich resides there with his family.
- Originally a nameless island, Noah’s grandfather took the liberty of naming it after himself. Rich Island is mostly inhabited by fishermen, but its shipping industry is poor and boats from Honolulu only stop by once every few months.
- Additionally, there’s only one bar on the island—the one managed by Noah’s father, Jason. The pirates stationed on the island often stop here for a bit of R&R.
- The Rich Family
- A family who is from Rich Island. Jason, the father, runs the sole bar on the island, and Moana, Noah’s older sister, helps out. Three of the family’s members (and one cat) live on the island.
- The family’s oldest child, Naomi, and her mother lives in Honolulu.
- Nele Island
- A holy site of Palekana, a long-standing religious group based in Hawaii. It is home to a particularly devout group of believers known as the Haku. The island is notably larger than Rich Island and has a proper harbor. Before Hawaii was annexed by the US, Palekana established settlements all over the island. Now, ex-yakuza volunteers have taken up lodgings in prefab huts near the Palekana training grounds.
- Palekana and Ex-yakuza
- The Palekana worshipping Haku and ex-yakuza from Japan coexist on Nele Island.
- Nele Island has become a dumping ground for nuclear waste due to the former Palekana Sage’s problematic legacy. To solve this issue, ex-yakuza, led by Shigaki, have volunteered to clean up the island. Among them are ex-Majima Family members Minami and Nishida, both of which are worried about Majima’s safety.
- Madlantis
- A secret island where multiple criminal organizations coexist. In a cave on the island hides a sprawling pleasure district built around a fleet of massive tankers.
- It is home to the Pirates’ Coliseum, where pirates constantly engage in pirate Battle . Some have achieved fame and fortune through the coliseum and others have had their lives destroyed by it.
Anyone who shows promise is scouted and invited to Queen Michele’s audience chamber.
- The Pirate Lords
- The top figures who control Madlantis. Queen Michele rules the criminal underworld as its charismatic leader and founder of the Pirates’ Coliseum.
- Mortimer is the reigning champion of the Pirates’ Coliseum and commands a grand pirate fleet as its admiral.
Raymond Law oversees all business on Madlantis and continues to generate a massive fortune.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on February 21, 2025.
