Following the release of Episode 1 last week, SEGA has launched Episode 2 of Dark Beginnings, the Sonic X Shadow Generations animated prologue.
In case you missed it, Dark Beginnings is a three-part animated miniseries that connects the events on Space Colony ARK 50 years ago with the Shadow of the present. Thus, it’s a must-watch for Sonic fans, especially ahead of the upcoming game’s release later this month.
As for the game itself, Sonic X Shadow Generations is the next Sonic series entry, though it’s an intriguing release. That’s because it’s part a remaster and part new title.
To be exact, this title combines a remaster of Sonic Generations (which itself is a greatest-hits collection of 3D and 2D Sonic stages) with a brand new storyline that features levels where players take on the role of the fan-favorite Shadow.
These new levels also combine 3D and 2D gameplay, making it a release that many Sonic fans have been excited for since its back in January this year.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S. Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 25, 2024.
