Soft Source Publishing recently announced that it is releasing a free demo for The Fractured Shimmer on Steam today, October 24. Take note that this demo will only be available until the fifth of November.
In case you’re unfamiliar, The Fractured Shimmer is a new survival-horror game by Pendopo Creations, a four-person development team based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The team has previously released Rendezvous, a 2.5D cyber-noir pixel art action-puzzle adventure game.
For this new game, Pendopo Creations returns with another pixel-art style game, though this time for a survival horror adventure.
Its premise is described as:
“A string of unsettling, cryptic murders lead Eddy, a broke journalist, to a seemingly remote mansion. The Fractured Shimmer is a 2.5D survival horror narrative adventure that unfolds as Eddy unravels the mysteries behind the killings, the mansion, and his own fractured past.”
To give you a better idea of what to expect, here’s a rundown of the game’s features:
- Explore: Explore your surroundings, collect clues, and solve puzzles that will help bring Eddy closer to unravelling the truth.
- Uncover: As Eddy spends more time in the mansion, he is forced to confront dark and personal questions about his own past.
- Survive: Practice caution when exploring your surroundings, you have a feeling you’re not alone. Take advantage of the limited resources of your surroundings to aid you in survival while traversing the mansion.
