The vivo V40 was launched in the Philippines recently, and one of its key features is the ability to shoot videos with a cinematic look and aspect ratio.
Over the years, vivo’s V series devices have specialized in taking portrait photos. In recent years, vivo introduced the Aura Light Portrait system for better night portrait shots.
For the latest V series entry, vivo not only brought back the Aura Light Portrait system, but it also added ZEISS camera features for the first time in a base V series phone. Yes, that means the vivo V40 is able to capture images with the ZEISS Natural Color option, or with various ZEISS portrait filters.
Perhaps the most striking of these ZEISS portrait filters is the cinematic mode which lets users capture portrait shots with a widescreen 2.39:1 aspect ratio (the standard for widescreen cinemas). What’s nice is that this isn’t just for photos as V40 users can also take videos with this aspect ratio.
As a bonus, the phone has ZEISS Focus Transition which makes sure that the focus switches smoothly to follow the subject, along with the various Movie Lookup Tables (LUTs) to emulate specific movie looks.
On top of these cinematic ZEISS features, the vivo V40 is also able to capture 4K videos at 30FPS for its main, ultrawide, and selfie cameras. Combining this feature with the various ZEISS filters, the vivo V40 should be a great partner for users who want to shoot more creative reels and social media videos.
The vivo V40 is available now for PHP 26,999 at vivo concept stores, kiosks, and authorized dealers nationwide. Buyers can also get the phone via the vivo website, Shopee, and Lazada.
