South Korean company BLACKSTORM recently launched pre-registration and closed beta testing for their newest title, Re:Memento – White Shadow. The new turn-based RPG blends classic Japanese role-playing elements with modern open-world design akin to more recent titles that have gained popularity.
The game places players in the shoes of heroes battling chaos and darkness, allowing them to assemble teams of up to four characters with distinct professions and abilities. At its core, Re:Memento emphasizes tactical gameplay through its “Guard Break” system and intricate character interactions, aiming to satisfy both casual players and strategic RPG enthusiasts. These features have likely drawn comparisons to its contemporaries, but having these mechanics does, indeed, keep things interesting.

The game was built using Unreal Engine 5, and boasts high-quality graphics with real-time lighting and a distinctive anime-inspired rendering style. Players will be free to explore a seamless open world featuring dynamic weather systems and interact with a variety of fully voiced cinematic cutscenes
This particular combat system will allow players to develop custom strategies through character collection and team building. The distinct kicker with this new title lies with competitive PvP modes which will be available for those seeking to test their tactical prowess–and flex on other players.
BLACKSTORM is currently accepting closed beta applications until November 3, with the testing schedule to be announced soon. There is no news on a global launch just yet, but South Korean players can register through the official website.
