Day 3 of gamescom asia 2024 has come and gone and there was still no shortage of cool things that happened. Here’s a rundown of the day’s highlights.
Fans of Street Fighter 6 gathered around the entertainment area for the CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 Super Premier Singapore. The tournament brought together top esports players from around the world, each trying to compete for a spot in the finals. Competitors gave it their all for a chance to be part of the top 16. All of which are hoping to earn a spot in the CAPCOM Cup 11.
A main stage session featuring Street Fighter 6‘s Director Takayuki Nakayama and Producer Shuhei Matsumoto, alongside Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, gave fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the development of the games. Two of some of the most beloved IPs in the company’s catalogue, fans were more than happy to learn more about what makes each one so special to make for the developers and to play for the gamers.
Day 3 also offered fans a unique chance to meet some of their gaming icons up close. Voice actor Andrew Wincott, known for his role as Raphael in Baldur’s Gate 3, J-pop star SHIHORI, who also gave event attendees a special performance, and cosplayer Xiaoyukiko hosted meet-and-greet sessions where attendees could get autographs, photos, and have a chat with them. Ryozo Tsujimoto also joined in, giving Monster Hunter fans a chance to connect with the mind behind the iconic series.
With over 60 indie games on display, indie developers from around the world had their time to shine. Singapore-based developers Dim Sum Games and Springloaded attracted long lines of players eager to try their latest titles, Fables and Tactics and Let’s Build a Dungeon. Meanwhile, Games From Spain gave gamers a chance to explore some of Spain’s top indie offerings. It won’t be a gaming event without some cool giveaways. The Stamp Rally Lucky Draw featured prizes that include PlayStation 5, SHARP smartphones, and Martiangear gaming chairs up for grabs. The final draw will be taking place tomorrow.
Looking ahead to day 4, the final day of gamescom asia 2024 promises even more. Fans can look forward to the conclusion of the CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 Super Premier Tournament, an exclusive panel with Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actor Andrew Wincott and Larian Studios on the game’s character creation and cinematic design, the Cosplay Runway Competition, and meet-and-greet sessions with Andrew Wincott and cosplayers Roxanne Kho, Zackt, and Charess Mabia.
