Hololive Production announced that Sakamata Chloe, a member of their sixth-generation officially known as Secret Society HoloX, will end all of her YouTube channel activities, along with other activities, including live event participation, social media activities, and the release of future merchandise effective January 26, 2025.
The announcement was made during Chloe’s 3rd-anniversary stream, with details shared in Hololive’s official statement. There, it was confirmed that despite Chloe ending her streaming activities on her channel, she will remain as an affiliate talent and will appear in future projects.
Chloe stated that this decision was due to her wanting to pursue another goal outside of Hololive. She continued that her health started to deteriorate due to the workload to the point that she must make frequent medical checkups. This includes the amount of voice recordings that she must do leading to her throat getting in bad condition.
Furthermore, despite the managers being supportive and adjusting her workload, Chloe found the whole process to be personally exhausting. She added that despite her decision, Cover was still supportive and encouraged her independent activities moving forward.
Sakamata Chloe’s end of activities marks the sixth departure this year under the Hololive Production, with first-generation JP talent Yozora Mel being terminated earlier this year; this was followed by the departures of content producer A-chan/Yuujin A, Amelia Watson of Holo Myth, and 2nd-gen JP talent Minato Aqua. There’s also Hizaki Gamma of HOLOSTARS UPROAR who’s contract was also terminated last July.
Although this announcement is the end of Chloe’s activities on her channel, as a Hololive affiliate talent, she will appear in future projects as mentioned above, and there’s a slight chance for her to appear on collabs, with the latter detail needing official confirmation.
Chloe will also become the second Hololive “Affiliate” talent after the end of her activities in January. This option was first taken by Amelia Watson who officially ended her channel activities last September, but still appears on various projects. A official statement was also provided by Hololive Production clarifying what it means to be a “Affiliated talent” after a talent’s departure.
