Aside from Wilds, fans can also look forward to Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new mobile game entry in the beloved franchise.
To be exact, this new mobile game is being developed by TiMi Studio Group (of Call of Duty: Mobile and Age of Empires Mobile fame) in collaboration with Capcom.
This isn’t the first mobile entry in the franchise as there’s Monster Hunter Explore and Riders which were released some years ago, though only in Japan. Then, last year, there’s Monster Hunter Now which is an AR title by Niantic, the creators of Pokemon Go. Unlike the other mobile titles, this one got a global release.
Outlanders is similar in that it’s also getting released worldwide, though it promises to deliver a more familiar experience as it will have players face off against various monsters while exploring a wide range of environments. Instead of being exactly like Monster Hunter World or Rise but in mobile form though, Outlanders seems to be a bit different as it’s billed as an open-world survival game. Yes, this game features an open-world map.
What it does have that long-time fans will love is multiplayer. While players can experience the game solo, groups of up to four players can go forth and hunt monsters.
“It’s time for mobile players to fully enjoy what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved franchises in gaming,” TiMi Studio Group producer Dong Huang said. “Monster Hunter Outlanders not only offers players an authentic hunting experience, but it does it in a massive open world featuring the community and social systems players are looking for today.”
For now, there’s no word yet on when Monster Hunter Outlanders will be released, though TiMi Studio Group and Capcom revealed that several playtests will take place soon. For more details, including future play test opportunities, visit the official website.
