Ubisoft recently announced that Rainbow Six Siege Operation Collision Point is coming this December featuring an Operator remaster and various updates.
This fourth and final season of Year 9 features an array of improvements and quality-of-life updates, along with an Operator remaster. Perhaps the biggest update here though is the addition of PC and console crossplay.
Yes, crossplay will finally arrive in the game with this new Operation, letting players on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox play together. Console players will have the option to join the PC player pool, though as expected, PC players won’t be able to join the console matchmaking pool as mouse and keyboard controls will give PC players too big of an advantage. Players on console who play Ranked playlists with crossplay active will maintain a PC rank that is separate from their console rank.
This update will come with improved cheater detection for fairer matches. What’s more, players with a Mousetrap Penalty on consoles will be be forced into the PC-matchmaking pool for 90 days. Plus, when a cheater is detected in a match, they will be automatically canceled with no effect on MMR.
As for the content updated, Operation Collision Point features a reworked Blackbeard with his H.U.L.L. Adaptable Shield gadget. This upgraded gadget provides Blackbeard with cover while giving him the ability to breach walls. With this rework, Blackbeard is a one speed, three health Operator with a loadout that features a MK17 CQB or SR-25 as a primary weapon and a D-50 as a secondary weapon.
Players can also expect various balance changes in the new season, including updates for Attacking Operators Ying and Sens, along with changes to Ballistic Shields. Specifically, the number of bullets needed to suppress Shield Operators have been reduced. Meanwhile, Ying’s rush and Sens’ R.O.U. Projectors have also been tweaked to encourage more precision and creativity, respectively.
Finally, the new season features additional player protections, including an overhaul to the Reputation Center which provides players with a clearer view of how their actions affect standings.
Rainbow Six Siege Operation Collision Point will be released on all platforms on December 3, 2024.
