After Thrones of Decay earlier this year, SEGA Europe and Creative Assembly have announced Omens of Destruction, the new DLC for Total War: Warhammer III.
This is a milestone release for Creative Assembly as this pack marks 100 Legendary Lords across the Warhammer series. Specifically, the new DLC includes new content for the armies of Khorne, Ogre Kingdoms, and Orcs & Goblins. These include the new Legendary Lords, battle units, and more.

The first of the new Legendary Lords is Skulltaker, the immortal champion and the greatest of all the Bloodletters. Skulltaker’s arrival also comes with new Khorne units, including two legendary heroes; Skarr Bloodwrath and Skyla Anfingrimm. There are also other units, including Bloodspeaker, Slaughterbrute, Bloodbeasts, Wrathmongers, Skullreapers, and Khorngors.
As for his playstyle, Skulltaker excels at hunting down and duelling enemy lords. With his Cloak of Skulls passive, Skulltaker will also get increased spell resistance and ward saves the more he kills.
Next is Gorban the Ironclaw of the Orcs & Goblins. Unlike the more simple-minded orcs, Gorbad is a capable tactician who still packs a wallop in combat. Specifically, he excels at penetrating enemy lines with devastating charges before engaging in close combat with his axe. As a bonus, he has an ability which activates when troops are nearby which grants them increased melee attack and defense.
As for Gorbad’s troops, the new units include the legendary hero Snagla Grobspit, along wiht the likes of the Savage Orc Great Shaman, Night Goblin Big Boss, Black Orc (Axe & Shield), Mangler Squiqs, Colossal Squig, Arachnarok (Flinger), and Bolt Throwa.
Meanwhile, the Ogre Kingdoms are getting Golgfag Maneater, one of the most successful ogre mercenaries of all time. Golgfag excels in tearing through infantry with his barbaric weapons, though he also has a pistol with the Dead Eye ability for massive damage.
Accompanying Golgfag are new units such as the Legendary Hero Bragg the Gutsman as well as the Ogre Paymaster, Bruiser, Golgfag’s Maneaters, Pigback Riders, Blood Vultures, Yhetees and Thundertusks.
Finally, Patch 6.0 will feature the series’ 100th Legendary Lord, Arbaal the Undefeated of the Khorne who will be available for free to everyone. Plus, a faction update will arrive for the Ogre Kingdoms, Khorne and Orcs & Goblins.
The Omens of Destruction DLC will be released on December 12, 2024, on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Windows Store.
