Blizzard is launching the new Diablo Immortal “Shattered Sanctuary” update today, and it features the return of the Lord of Terror himself – Diablo.
Just last month, Diablo Immortal got a WoW collab. Now, another exciting update is here featuring a new main questline, along with a big new zone – the largest of the game to date, in fact. For most players though, the highlight is no doubt the return of Diablo as a fearsome boss.
To go along with the new update, Blizzard shared a 2D cinematic reveal for Shattered Sanctuary here.
Diablo has been resurrected, and he is again laying waste to Sanctuary. With this update, players will face off against Diablo himself, and only the power of the Worldstone shard will be able to best him.
Along with Diablo, players can also visit the World’s Crown, the game’s latest zone which is a horror-filled continent filled with blood. Here, players can collect bounties and slay Sharbourne monsters. This zone will also be necessary to go through if players want to face Diablo, though before the major boss fight, players will face fan-favorite bosses Diablo 1 and Diablo’s personal lieutenants.
The new update also introduces boosted dungeons with randomized modifiers. Players can test their mettle in these Challenger Dungeons to earn extra rewards. If that’s not enough, players can also face new boss battles in the Helliquary that are inspired by the manifestations of Diablo.
Finally, players can join the Brumaltine festivities from December 17 to January 7. Here, players are tasked with completing three daily tasks in exchange for rewards and progress toward greater Brumaltine prizes. Plus, logging in each weekend will give players Brumaltine gifts.
