Marvel Rivals is out now, and it’s already a hit with over 400,000 peak concurrent players
Marvel Rivals' launch season also features all heroes unlcoked 33 Heroes, All Unlocked and Free to Play
After its reveal earlier this year, Marvel Rivals is finally out now, and it has already exceeded expectations in just its first day.
While it had a lot of hype behind it given that it’s a hero shooter featuring Marvel characters (with an eye-catching art style on top of that), the game was an even bigger success than many expected as it got over 400,000 peak concurrent players in its first 24 hours on Steam. In the following days, the game has gotten over 400,000 players, indicating that many continue to enjoy the game.
Of course, the high player count is thanks in large part to the game being free-to-play. Still, it’s fair to say that it has already made a splash, with many players online already sharing their thoughts on the game; they’re mostly memes, though there are lots of positive responses as well.
In case you missed its launch, Marvel Rivals was released on December 6, and it launched with Season 0. In this season, players can try out 33 heroes in 8 maps for Quick Match and Competitive modes. The game also features a Conquest map and a new Practice Range for players to try out the various heroes.
Soon, players will experience “Dooms’ Rise,” the game’s first official season. This will serve as the opening chapter of the game’s story, and it will introduce the Timestream Entanglement caused by Doctor Dooms’ time experiments.
To celebrate the game’s launch, Marvel Rivals also announced the upcoming Twitch Drops event for Season 0. Throughout Season 0, players can get drop rewards by watching their favorite streamers play the game.
What’s more, players will also get to participate in the ‘Entangled Moments’ seasonal event to unlock spray rewards, gallery card rewards, and stories after completing tasks.
