By pressing and holding the camera button, you can capture up to seven frames per second, meaning you can get great photos of people or things in action. On its own, the Find X8’s periscope telephoto shooter takes great photos, be it using it at its native 3x or 10x. That’s not all it can do though as the phone packs impressive AI processing.

You don’t have to do anything special to activate this as the Find X8 will use AI to help with image processing for photos taken at more extreme zoom lengths (think 50x zoom and higher). With this, you can take incredibly zoomed-in photos while getting a surprising level of detail.

As you can see in the images above, the 10x zoom still retained a ton of detail even with it being digital zoom. More impressively though is the max 120x zoom. With the phone’s AI Telephoto Zoom capabilities, the word Departures is clear. For reference, even if you have great eyesight, you won’t be able to read this from far away.

While the periscope telephoto camera already offers great results in optimal lighting conditions (even at 120x zoom), there are times when you want extra clarity. For instance, if your hands are shaky or if you’re shooting at night. You won’t have to worry in this case thanks to AI Enhance Clarity as you can get great results even in suboptimal conditions.

You can do this simply by using the phone’s built-in photo editor. With this, you can get great results, as you can see in the moon sample photos below:

Here’s another real world scenario where we used the AI Enhance Clarity feature of the OPPO Find X8 where our Managing Partner was trying to scope some niche fragrances behind the counter at a store in Hong Kong.
