Secret Level premieres today on Prime Video with first eight episodes
The rest of the show's episodes will be released next week.
After its reveal back in August, the animated anthology series Secret Level is finally coming out today on Prime Video worldwide.
Specifically, the show’s first eight episodes will be available on Prime Video beginning today, with the rest of the show’s episodes set to be released on December 17. This is an interesting release strategy, especially considering how most streaming shows drop all their episodes in one day.
In case you missed its reveal, this new series is made by Tim Miller, the creator of Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots. As its title implies, Miller’s new show will feature video game-inspired stories. To be exact, each of the show’s 15 episodes is based on a popular video game series.
The games and franchises featured in the series include:
- Armored Core
- Concord
- Crossfire
- Dungeons & Dragons
- Exodus
- Honor of Kings
- Mega Man
- New World: Aeternum
- Pac-Man
- PlayStation
- Sifu
- Spelunky
- The Outer Worlds
- Unreal Tournament
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Alongside the listed games, Secret Level features a star-studded cast, including the following notable actors:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger
- Patrick Schwarzenegger
- Kevin Hart
- Heaven Hart
- Keanu Reeves
- Gabriel Luna
- Ariana Greenblatt
- Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
- Michael Beach
- Emily Swallow
- Claudia Doumit
- Temuera Morrison
- Ricky Whittle
- Merle Dandridge
- Clive Standen
- Laura Bailey
Ahead of the show’s release, reviews were shared online. Unlike Miller’s previous series which was more well-received, Secret Level has mixed reviews. Many of these reviews note the show’s uneven episode quality, though they at least indicated that some of the episodes are well worth seeing.
The first eight episodes of Secret Level are available beginning today, exclusively on Prime Video.
