With the anime’s release just weeks away, The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 got a new trailer, giving fans a new peek at what to expect in the show’s highly-anticipated continuation.
The show’s new trailer was released on the TOHO animation YouTube channel, and it’s a must-watch for fans as it gives a preview of what happens next to Maomao, Jinshi, and the other colorful characters in the Imperial Palace.
It also shows off a new key character and previews the second season’s opening theme song. You can check out the trailer here:
Performing the second season’s opening is Lilas Ikuta, the singer of the popular Japanese pop duo YOASOBI. Her song for the show is titled “Hyakkaryoran” (or “Splendid Bounty” in English). While YOASOBI has made various anime songs, this is Lilas Ikuta’s first solo song for a TV anime.
The trailer also revealed that Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen) has joined the second season’s voice cast. Specifically, Seto voices Shisui, a maid who will cross paths with Maomao in the story.
The Apothecary Diaries’ second season will premiere on January 10, 2025. The show is confirmed to be released on Netflix in select Asian countries. Meanwhile, the series will be streamed in the US, Europe, and other select regions on Crunchyroll.
Aside from The Apothecary Diaries, the Fall 2025 anime season also has lots of highly-anticipated shows, including Solo Leveling Season 2, My Happy Marriage Season 2, and Sakamoto Days, among others.
