Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 ‘A Storm of Falling Stars’ to release on December 18
Zenless Zone Zero Version is also getting a PS5 Pro version with ray-tracing.
HoYoverse recently announced that Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 will launch on all PC, PlayStation, and mobile on December 18. This upcoming update is titled “A Storm of Falling Stars.”
As with previous version updates, this latest one will add new characters. While these two are no doubt the highlights for most players, the update will also feature a new gameplay mode called “Hollow Zero: Shadows Lost,” along with new areas and story content.
Speaking of its story, HoYoverse describes the premise of Version 1.4 as:
In previous chapters, Proxies were drawn into a conspiracy surrounding Sacrifice after the demolition case orchestrated by Vision Corporation. In Chapter 5, with the awakening of our “old friend” Perlman, the hidden truths and the Wise and Belle’s backstories will be revealed. Meanwhile, New Eridu Public Security is undergoing a leadership election. As the truth comes to light and a new crisis emerges, Proxies will join forces with Section 6 to venture into the unknown Port Elpis, where all mysteries will be unveiled as the story reaches its finale.
As for the new characters, the first one is Hoshimi Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter. She is a Frost Anomaly Agent who can surround enemies with Icefire, causing Frost Anomaly and triggering special effects. Miyabi can also accumulate Fallen Frost to unleash a powerful forward attack that also deals big Frost damage.
Next is Asaba Harumasa, an Electric Agent who attacks with a bow and blade. He marks targets and delivers unexpected strikes to enemies with his Electro Quivers. The best part is that who reach Inter-Knot Lv. 8 can get Harumasa for free after Version 1.4 goes live.
Along with the new characters, Version 1.4 also features Shadows Lost, a major update to Hollow Zero. There’s also Deadly Assault, another new gameplay mode. In these new modes, players will face enemies in Lost Void with enhanced support and new equipment.
There’s also the newly unlocked Reverb which will host various events including a Bangboo-themed tower defense gameplay mode.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 will also add various changes to make combat and gameplay feel better. For starters, the Main Story stages from the Prologue to Chapter 3 are now added to the HDD system. In the future, the TV mode will also be replaced with story stages, meaning players can go into battle directly while commanding Eous to explore the Hollows.
In combat, Decibels will no longer be shared across the squad with this update, allowing squad members to use their Ultimates in a row. Plus, the Quick Sweep feature for Shiyu Defense challenges will be added alongside other progression and character optimizations.
Finally, Zenless Zone Zero will get an official PS5 Pro version alongside the new version’s launch. This version will come with enhanced performance and ray-tracing which should deliver even better visuals than the current PS5 version.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4 will be released on December 18 on all platforms.
