ASUS unveils new ROG, TUF Gaming, and Prime motherboards
ASUS' new motherboards are here.
ASUS just dropped their latest motherboards, the B850 and B840 for AMD processors, alongside models for ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and Prime. These new motherboards aim to bring some enhanced connectivity and storage options compared to previous models, featuring support for higher speeds and a variety of form factors including full ATX, microATX, and Mini-ITX. The B850 series stands out with its inclusion of WiFi 7 capabilities and robust support for DDR5 memory, catering to both gaming enthusiasts and general users looking to build efficient PCs.
The B850 motherboards are particularly tailored for users seeking advanced features, with tool-free M.2 SSD installation and simplified troubleshooting processes. Meanwhile, the B840 models are aimed at builders who prefer a cost-effective solution without the need for overclocking or high-end PCIe 5.0 components. The first releases in the B840 lineup come from the established Prime family, making them an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.
For those interested in high-performance builds, ASUS has introduced the ROG Crosshair X870E Apex motherboard, which focuses on overclocking capabilities and is designed to push performance limits. The ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme is also set to be released soon. Both motherboards will feature an upgraded BIOS interface with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels to enhance user experience by providing clearer navigation through settings.
The ROG Strix B850-E Gaming WiFi model emerges as the flagship of the B850 series, boasting an 8-layer PCB for superior signal integrity and a powerful VRM architecture that supports extensive overclocking options. Additionally, it includes multiple USB ports and a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for next-gen graphics cards. The ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi offers a more budget-friendly option while still providing essential gaming features.
TUF Gaming motherboards emphasize durability and essential gaming performance with features such as corrosion-resistant I/O panels and military-grade protection against electrical surges. The TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi model is particularly noteworthy for its comprehensive connectivity options, including a USB 20Gbps Type-C port.
ASUS’s Prime B840 motherboards cater to users focused on energy efficiency and solid performance around mainstream CPUs. These boards are equipped with multiple M.2 slots and support integrated graphics setups.
