Bandai reveals Gundam Assemble – a brand-new Gundam tabletop game
Ready your wallets, Gundam fans!
Bandai recently unveiled Gundam Assemble, a new Mobile Suit Gundam tabletop game that will feature miniature figures of iconic mobile suits.
Details were shared a few days ago on Gundam Info, revealing not only the trailer, but also the first six figures that should pique the interests of many Gundam fans.
While how gameplay works hasn’t been revealed yet, the announcement video for this new tabletop game does give fans a taste of what to expect regarding combat and the figures’ looks. Check it out here:
Gundam Assemble will be a standalone experience, though Bandai revealed that there will be a tie-in to the upcoming Gundam Card Game. This indicates that there are major plans to expand the Gundam franchise to the tabletop space.
For now, fans will have to wait for more details about gameplay, though the first six figures have already been revealed. These include:
- RX-78-2 Gundam
- Zaku-II Char Custom
- Wing Gundam Zero EW
- Gundam Aerial
- Kapool
- Archangel-class ship Dominion
The Gundam franchise continues to be hugely popular across the world thanks to the various anime, Gunpla model kits, and video game projects. Given its continued popularity, it makes sense that Gundam is setting its sights on the tabletop game market.
If you ask us, the card game may be a tough sell, though the tabletop game is definitely promising. After all, even without considering gameaplay, the figures already look highly collectible, making them perfect for existing Gunpla builders and collectors.
For now though, there’s no word yet on a release date for Gundam Assemble.
In related news, Sunrise announced the new Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime series back in December, and it’s an exciting project as it’s being made by Evangelion studio Khara.
