Streetwear legend Hirsohi Fujiwara recently shared our first look at the new Gundam x fragment design Gunpla collab.

To be exact, Fujiwara shared images of a new RX-78-2 Gunpla via his official Instagram. As befits a fragment design collab, this Gunpla model kit features a gray color scheme, complete with the iconic lighting bolts logo of Fujiwara’s iconic label.

Along with the model kit, Fujiwara also teased the special box that it comes in, featuring the Operation V logo and the model’s official name of “RX82FRGMT.”

This collab was initially teased back in December when Fujiwara teased it with a special Gundam and fragment design collab logo. While the collab’s Gunpla was revealed, there’s no word yet on a release date, nor is there info on other pieces in the upcoming drop. Chances are that there will be more in the collection though, possibly some apparel pieces.

For those unfamiliar, Hiroshi Fujiwara is a major figure in the Japanese streetwear and music scene. He is known as the godfather of Ura-Harajuku fashion, though he is currently best known for his label fragment design (aka FRGMT).

While FRGMT is not a fashion house per se, it’s a brand that has collaborated with notable names in fashion, including the likes of Nike, NEIGHBORHOOD, and Bvlgari, and many more.

FRGMT collabs aren’t just in the world of fashion though as fragment design has also teamed up with notable franchises like Pokemon. As such, a Gundam collab makes a lot of sense, especially considering that Gundam celebrated its 45th anniversary last year.
