Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is official, coming in March 2027
Yes, Sonic 4 is coming in two years' time!
Fresh after the third movie’s successful theatrical run, Paramount Pictures announced that it plans to release Sonic the Hedgehog 4 in March 2027.
In a report by Variety, it was revealed that Paramount Pictures is planning to release the fourth live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie on March 19, 2027. This makes sense considering that the first three Sonic movies were released with a gap of around 2-and-a-half years between them. Given that Sonic 3 was released in most of the world in December, a March 2027 release date continues the trend for the movie series.
This early confirmation of the fourth film’s release date is a testament to the success of the movies. After all, the first movie grossed USD 320 million while the next two earned over USD 400 million each. What’s more, Variety’s report also mentioned that the movies have driven over USD 180 million in global consumer spending from rentals and digital purchases.
While there’s no word yet on cast and staff details, it’s likely that director Jeff Fowler will return alongside the rest of the main cast members. Of course, we expect them to be joined by new faces as well.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released in the US on December 20, 2024. Since its release, the film has become a big hit as it became the fifth highest-grossing video game movie adaptation of all time.
Meanwhile, the film was only released in the Philippines last week. As such Sonic fans in the country can still watch the movie as it’s stills screening in many theaters across the PH.
