Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End just got a Tagalog dub courtesy of Muse Asia
Yes, the dub is actually pretty good!
In what is quite a surprising move, Muse Asia recently released a Tagalog dub of the hit fantasy anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
The first season of Frieren premiered back in October 2023, and it quickly became a huge hit thanks to its unique take on the fantasy anime genre. After all, while most fantasy shows follow a group of adventurers on their way to fight the big bad villain, Frieren is set decades after the defeat of the Demon King, giving the show a unique feel.
If you’re an anime fan, chances are that you’ve already watched the show. If you haven’t yet, or if you simply want an excuse to rewatch the series, Muse Asia’s Frieren Tagalog dub may just convince you.
The Tagalog dub’s first episode premiered just over a week ago, with the second episode following shortly after. You can watch both episodes now on the Muse Philippines YouTube channel.
As of this article’s writing, the first 9 episodes have already been released, and we expect to see more episodes be released in the coming weeks.
Quality-wise it is actually pretty good! Sure, hearing Frieren, Fern, Himmel, and the others speak in Tagalog may take some time to get used to (especially if you watched the Japanese or English dub before), but the voice actors have done an excellent job bringing the characters to life.
This isn’t the only Tagalog project from Muse though as we’ve also seen Filipino sub options for hit titles like Dandadan. Hopefully, this means more Tagalog dubs for notable anime; always a plus as it can make these shows more accessible to audiences who prefer Tagalog audio.
