OPPO Launches Find N5: The World’s Thinnest Book-Style Foldable

OPPO recently unveiled their latest, and record-breaking thinnest foldable smartphone in the OPPO Find N5. The announced dropped yesterday, February 20, 2025, marking a significant leap forward in foldable device technology–with the new device claiming the title of world’s thinnest book-style foldable smartphone, measuring just 8.93mm when closed and weighing a mere 229g.
The Find N5 features the largest inner screen of any book-style foldable at 8.12 inches when unfolded, while offering a comfortable 6.62-inch cover display when closed. Both displays deliver over 400PPI clarity, a 1-120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness exceeding 2000 nits for HDR content. The device has earned TÜV Rheinland’s Minimized Crease Certification, highlighting its industry-leading shallow crease design.
The Find N5 introduces several innovations, including the world’s first IPX9 water resistance rating for a foldable phone. The device utilizes a new Titanium Flexion Hinge, which is 26% smaller yet 36% more rigid than its predecessor, incorporating Grade 5 titanium alloy and Ultra-High Strength Steel components.
Battery life has been a key focus, with the Find N5 featuring a 5600mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon Battery, the largest capacity in any foldable phone. The device supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, promising hours of usage from just minutes of charging.
The Find N5 is also the first foldable to launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, offering enhanced AI computing capabilities and improved efficiency. The camera system, developed in partnership with Hasselblad, includes a versatile setup with ultra-wide, primary, and periscope cameras, with the latter capable of telephoto macro shooting at distances as close as 10cm.
Running on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, the device introduces several AI-powered features, including AI Search, AI Call Summary, and enhanced translation capabilities. The Find N5 also offers improved cross-platform integration with MacOS through O+ Connect, allowing seamless file transfer and remote control capabilities.
OPPO’s launch of the Find N5 comes as part of the company’s global expansion strategy, with the brand currently serving over 700 million users across 70 markets and ranking fourth in global smartphone shipments for 2024. The device will be available in two colors: Cosmic Black and Misty White.
