Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds announced – closed network test happening soon
The party isn't stopping anytime soon for Sonic fans!
Sonic fans are in for yet another treat as SEGA gave us our first extensive look at Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the newest racing title in the franchise in quite a while.
Last year was a massive one for fans as not only did SEGA launch Sonic x Shadow Generations, but there was also the Sonic 3 movie which did well in the box office. Now, we can all look forward to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the latest Sonic racing game that promises to deliver high-octane thrills.
That’s because this game will feature some unique mechanics, including the Travel Ring which transforms the circuit on the second lap to spice things up, plus there will be gadgets with unique effects that players can use to get an advantage while out on the track.

If the trailer isn’t enough to excite you, then the fact that there will be a Closed Network test should!
Specifically, the CrossWorlds Closed Network Test for PlayStation 5 will happen soon, and it will let players try out the game’s online World Match mode. Registration for the Closed Network Test is open now on the official website.

- Application Period: February 14, 2025–11:59 PM on February 18, 2025 (JST)
- Network Test Duration: 9:00 AM on February 22, 2025–9:00 AM on February 24, 2025 (JST)

- Platform: PlayStation 5
- Supported Audio Languages: English, Japanese
As a bonus for participants, an in-game sticker and title will be given to every player who will join the Closed Network Test.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, though there’s no word yet on a release date.
