vivo paints the town red, unveils new V50 5G smartphone

Vivo has officially launched their latest installment to the spectacular V-series, the vivo V50 5G smartphone. The brand quite literally painted the town red through a star-studded event held at the Maybank Performing Arts Theatre in Bonifacio Global City.

The evening launch was hosted by KC Montero and featured notable personalities including actor Alden Richards, who came onstage via a grand entrance. Sports broadcaster Gretchen Ho, actor Enchong Dee, and beauty queen Nicole Cordoves joined in the festivities as a few games were facilitated amongst the audience members. Later on, premiere photographer BJ Pascual also shared his experiences in using the new smartphone.

The new V50 5G showcases vivo’s continued focus on photography excellence and stylish design. Product manager Keshav Chugh highlighted the camera’s capabilities, stating its efficiency in taking night shots. The device comes equipped with ZEISS optics via a dual rear camera system featuring a 50MP wide lens with optical image stabilization and a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 119-degree field of view. ZEISS photonics and optics manager Franziska Hoffman elaborated on the brand’s continued partnership, and just how well the new V-series smartphone synergizes with ZEISS technology. 

Anyone looking to point and shoot will appreciate additional features including a color spectrum sensor, Ring-LED flash, panorama capabilities, HDR support, and the full suite of the V50’s AI Imaging Studio. Likewise, the 50MP selfie camera will also be a guaranteed treat, as it also sports the same ZEISS technology for sharper, clearer photos. For video recording, the V50 5G offers 4K capture at 30fps with both optical and electronic image stabilization. Durability is another highlight of the new device, with P68/IP69 ratings making it quite the rough and tumble smartphone, in spite of its gaudy sheen.

The V50 5G comes in three stylish colorways: Ancora Red, Satin Black, and Purple Mist. The 24GB+256GB variant is priced at ₱27,999, with the larger capacity 24GB+512GB model available for ₱30,999.
