2K releases Civilization VII Update 1.1.1, featuring UI updates and balance changes
This latest Civ VII update is a big one.

Following the release of the 1.1.0 update, 2K has announced that the Civilization VII Update 1.1.1 is now live, featuring a wealth of enhancements and balance updates.
While the direction that Firaxis went with in Civ VII has proven to be rather divisive, what’s clear is that, based on player feedback, the game’s UI needed some work. So, it’s no surprise that the new update has a bunch of UI improvements, including better unit flag and health bar readability, coupled with a better “District Under Attack” notification. While I liked the game overall, I do have to admit that there were times I didn’t know I was under attack, so this addition is definitely helpful.
Other UI improvements include the new Trade Lens option so you can better see your trade routes. The UI also now shows how many turns there are until the next Crisis.
Along with the UI updates, there are also various quality-of-life changes such as Quick Move which disables movement animations for faster gameplay, as well as the ability to rename Settlements and Commanders. There’s also a new Standard starting position option that adds more more variety to continents, making the early-game less predictable.
As for the balance changes, Civilization VII Update 1.1.1 features a wide array of tweaks to Leaders, Civs, and Commanders. Plus, there are a couple of bug fixes on all platforms. The complete details can be found on the patch notes.
Speaking of platforms, this update is live now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Sadly for those on the Switch, Update 1.1.1 is not available on the Switch version yet, with no specific release date set so far.
Civilization VII is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and macOS.
