Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on consoles and PC
And the reviews say that it's a pretty solid game.

It has taken a bit longer than expected, but finally, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on consoles and PC. With this release, Assassin’s Creed fans can finally experience this new adventure that’s set in Feudal Japan.
Originally, Shadows was set to be released in November 2024, though its launch was pushed back to February 2025. Then, last January, the release date was moved again, this time to March 20. Thankfully for those eagerly awaiting the game, Shadows finally launched today.
It’s fair to say that an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan was something that fans have been looking forward to for years. Despite this, Shadows had a rather troubled development, not to mention that it has gotten plenty of messy discourse online. As such, it’s at least good to see the game get released with no issues today.
As for its reception, Shadows has gotten generally positive reviews, with the game having an 81 score on Metacritic for the PS5 version. This is in line with what we expected from a mainline Assassin’s Creed entry.
The standard edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac. It’s also available in a Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition which include:
- The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack” which contains gear, and weapons for both Naoe and Yasuke, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack” contains hideout cosmetics, and “Mastery Points”.
- The Collector’s Edition includes the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack”, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack”, “Mastery Points”, and physical content. The physical contents are a Steelbook, the World map, Naoe & Yasuke figurine, Naoe’s life-sized Katana Tsuba, a Wall Creed Scroll, a 76-page collector’s artbook, and 2 sumi-e lithographs.
