Looks like BlizzCon won't return to a yearly format anytime soon.

It has been over a year since the last event, and now, Blizzard confirmed that it will bring back BlizzCon in September 2026.

While the last in-person BlizzCon happened in November 2023, fans will need to wait a bit longer for the next event. That’s because it is scheduled to take place from September 12 to 13, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Blizzard confirmed BlizzCon’s return just recently via an announcement trailer. Along with the reveal, Blizzard also confirmed that the event will once again feature a big Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, hands-on gameplay, and many more.

Back in Blizzard’s heyday, BlizzCon was an annual event, though 2020 essentially put a stop to things. This is no surprise given that 2020 was the first year of the COVID pandemic, resulting in pretty much every in-person event being canceled or moved online.

While Blizzard brought back BlizzCon in 2021, it was only in November 2023 that it returned as an in-person event. With the reveal of BlizzCon’s return happening next year, this is basically confirmation that the event will not go back to its annual schedule anytime soon. This might be a bit of a shame for some fans, but it makes sense given Blizzard’s current situation.
