Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches new Character Trailer series, beginning with Gustave
More trailers are set to be released in the coming weeks.

With the game’s release just a bit over a month away, Bandai Namco recently launched its Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Character Trailer series, beginning with Gustave.
As Clair Obscur is a character-driven RPG, it makes sense that the game’s characters are going to get the spotlight in the leadup to its launch. Given that he’s one of the main protagonists, Gustave is fittingly the first to get a Character Trailer.
In this trailer, players can learn more about Gustave, an engineer who has dedicated his life to the city of Lumière’s defense and agricultural systems. The trailer also highlights his voice actor, Charlie Cox, best known for playing Matt Murdock in the Netflix Daredevil series and in the ongoing Daredevil: Born Again Disne+ show.
You can check out the first Clair Obscur Character Trailer here:
Gustave’s character and backstory is described as:
Meet Gustave, the resourceful and dedicated engineer from Lumière. Gustave grew up feeling suffocated by the Paintress’ constant presence over Lumière. He has dedicated his life to the city’s defence and agricultural systems, striving to protect and provide for his people. Now, as an Expeditioner, he devotes his final year of life to defeating the Paintress and reclaiming a future for Lumière’s children.
We don’t know yet when Bandai Namco will share the other Character Trailers, but it’s likely that we’ll see them be released in the coming weeks, especially as the game’s launch is in late April. Plus, we expect the other notable characters to get trailers, including Maelle, Lune, Sciel, Renor, Verso, Monoco, and Esquie.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be released on April 24, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
