Dune: Awakening reveals business model and PC system requirements
The upcoming Dune game won't require a subscription, and it won't be an Early Access Launch.

With the game’s release just a few months away, Funcom and Level Infinite revealed the business model and system requirements of Dune: Awakening.
For those wondering why the game’s business model is a major announcement, that’s because this Dune game is an MMORPG. As such, it’s important for many players to know what exactly to expect regarding the game’s monetization. After all, there are plenty of promising games that have been marred by predatory monetization.
In this regard, the game’s Creative Director, Joel Bylos, talked about their business model for Dune: Awakening in a new video. Essentially, players can expect the game to follow a standard business model of being a one-time purchase with optional DLCs. This means the game won’t require a subscription, though players can expect free updates in the future. Plus, for those worried, this game will get a full launch instead of an Early Access launch.
As this game will have a one-time purchase requirement, players can now pre-order Dune: Awakening in a standard edition (USD 49.99), Deluxe Edition (USD 69.99), and Ultimate Edition (USD 89.99).
The Deluxe Edition will include a Season Pass that will unlock four DLCs over time, with the first being unlocked upon the game’s launch. This version will also come with the armor of the Sardaukar.
Meanwhile, the Utlimate Edition features the Deluxe version’s contents, all while adding the Paul Atreides’ stillsuit from the 2021 film, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, unique color patterns, and the Caladan Palace Set.
As a bonus, pre-orders of any of the three editions will give players a universal color pattern that can be applied to vehicles, weapons, and armor, along with the Terrarium of Muad’Dib base decoration.
Finally, here are the PC system requirements of the game:

- Processor: Intel Core i5-7400, AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
