Following its EVA collab back in December, McDonald’s Japan has now released a special music video for its latest collaboration with Hatsune Miku.

This new McDonald’s collab was teased a few weeks ago, and it was soon officially announced with a special illustration. It was also revealed that the collab was for the new Shaka Shaka Potato (or McShaker Fries) plum and seaweed flavor.

The collab didn’t end there as McDonald’s has now released a special music video starring Hatsune Miku herself, just in time for Miku Day on March 9. Aside from being an eye-catching video, it’s also a nice treat for Miku fans as the song “Shakashaka Ni Shiteageru” is a reworking of her notable track “Mikumiku Ni Shiteageru.”

You can check out the music video here:

Along with the music video, another illustration was released on the McDonald’s Japan X showing Miku with a Shaka Shaka Potato bag beside her while in a voice recording booth.

This illustration came with a confirmation that Hatsune Miku will serve as the voice of announcements in McDonald’s in Japan for a limited time. To be exact, she will be the voice of announcements until March 19, 2025.

The new McDonald’s McShaker fries flavor is available now in Japan. For now, there’s no word on if the Miku collab will feature more special videos or projects.
