After its release on consoles and PC last year, Ubisoft announced that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on mobile devices this April.

This mobile version of the latest Prince of Persia game is developed by Ubisoft Da Nang studio, and it promises to deliver a similarly satisfying Metroidvania experience, all while being optimized for mobile devices.

Specifically, the Android/iOS version of the game will be playable via the touch screen or with an external controller. Of course, a controller is the best option, though the game should still be easy to play via the touch controls. After all, the game features full touch control customization, meaning players can change the size and position of the control inputs. What’s more, this mobile version will also pack features such as auto-potion, auto-parry, and slow-time options, making the game more accessible for mobile. These are on top of the original version’s already comprehensive accessibility features.

In case you missed it, The Lost Crown is a Metroidvania-style action platformer that was released in January last year. The game is described as:

Players will embody Sargon, a young, gifted Persian fighter from the legendary elite group known as The Immortals. Set in the mythological world of Mount Qaf, players will embark on a journey to rescue the kidnapped Prince Ghassan and restore balance to a once wondrous, now cursed land.

Players will unleash their inner warrior by utilizing Time Powers, combat, and platforming skills to perform stylish combos and defeat a variety of time-corrupted enemies and mythological creatures in Souls-like combat. They will explore a cursed Persian-inspired world filled with larger-than-life landmarks and highly detailed interconnected biomes, each with its own identity, wonder, and danger. The game offers an epic adventure where players immerse themselves in Sargon’s story, solve puzzles, find hidden treasures, and complete quests to uncover the mysteries of Mount Qaf.

While the game got great reviews, The Lost Crown sadly did not meet Ubisoft’s sales expectations, leading to the disbandment of its development team. With its mobile release, here’s hoping that the game gets enough new players that Ubisoft might consider making a follow-up.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on mobile (Android and iOS) devices on April 14, 2025.
