With the show’s premiere just a month away, HBO and Sony shared the official trailer of The Last of Us Season 2, giving us our best look yet at this highly anticipated continuation.

It has been two years since the first season was released, and finally, Season 2 of the hit HBO series will finally premiere this April. Because the first season covered the events of the first game, this next season will follow the events of The Last of Us Part 2 (the game), though likely not all of it. After all, the show has a third season in the works, meaning Part 2’s events will likely be split. This makes sense given that Part 2 is a longer game.

As the show will return very soon, a new official trailer was shared recently, and it gives us our best look yet at the series. While it doesn’t spoil anything, it does give us a good taste of what to expect.

The second season’s premise is described as:

Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

Season two features returning cast members, including Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. They are joined by new cast members, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac.

The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere on HBO and Max on April 13, 2025.

In the PH, Max is available for PHP 149 per month. It is also available via Cignal, Smart and PLDT Home.
