Wit Studio’s new anime ‘Moonrise’ premieres on Netflix this April
This new series features character designs by the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist!

Netflix recently gave us our first look at Moonrise, the new sci-fi action anime from Wit Studio that’s coming out this April.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Wit Studio is one of the most prolific anime studios right now, and it is best known for producing popular shows such as the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, Spy x Family (alongside CloverWorks), and even My Deer Friend Nokotan.
While the studio is also working on the One Piece anime remake which will be released sometime in the future on Netflix, Wit Studio also has another show coming to the platform soon.
Titled Moonrise, this new original anime from Wit Studio features a sci-fi story that will see humans on Earth clash with colonists living on the moon.
While there’s no trailer for it yet, Netflix recently shared some new screenshots, giving us a bit of an idea about what to expect:
What’s interesting about this new series is that it features character design by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of the hit shonen manga, Fullmetal Alchemist. Also working on the series is Tow Ubukata, the series composer of Psycho-Pass 2 and 3, as well as RWBY: Ice Queendom.
Meanwhile, the show’s current confirmed voice cast members include Chiaki Kobayashi (Mash Burnedead in Mashle) and Yuto Uemura (Tamaki Amajiki in My Hero Academia).
Moonrise will premiere worldwide on April 10, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
