Nintendo Switch 2 will officially be released in the Philippines, though its launch will be delayed
It will be slightly delayed, but the Switch 2 is still set to launch in 2025.

Following the recent Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch in the Philippines this year, but it will be slightly delayed.
Previously, we mentioned that we expected that the Switch 2 will get a PH release. Finally, the next Nintendo console is confirmed to get a PH release this year. To be exact, the official Nintendo Southeast Asia Facebook page confirmed that the new console will launch in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
Sadly, while the Switch 2 will launch in Japan, the US, and other regions in June, the console will be delayed in the aforementioned countries. To be exact, the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to be released in the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia sometime between July and September 2025.
While this means Pinoy players will need to wait some time before the new Switch console’s launch, this is still overall good news. After all, it at least confirms that the new Nintendo console will get an official release in the country – a far cry from previous Nintendo console releases.
For reference, previous Nintendo home consoles and handhelds were not only delayed here considerably, but they also weren’t “officially” launched.
What’s more, the Nintendo SEA page confirmed that there are plans to launch the Switch Online service and the eShop in the Philippines. Fingers crossed this happens alongside the Switch 2 release.
As for pricing, there’s no word yet on a price tag in the PH. Given the console’s USD 449 price, we expect the Switch 2 to be priced at around PHP 30k. Hopefully though, it will be a bit more affordable.
