Great news, Chainsaw Man fans!

After its Japanese premiere was announced, Columbia Pictures confirmed that the Chainsaw Man movie is coming to cinemas in the Philippines.

To be exact, Columbia Pictures Philippines announced today that Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will get a cinema release in the country via its official Facebook page. The announcement did not come with a release date in the Philippines.

Also announced today was the film’s global release on October 29 by Sony Pictures. It’s not clear if that will also be the case in the Philippines given the lack of word from Columbia Pictures PH, though we imagine that is the case. After all, October 29 is a Wednesday, and in the Philippines, Wednesdays are when new movies are released in cinemas.

Whatever the case may be, the film is all but confirmed to release in cinemas later this year, but not before Japan as the film’s JP premiere is on September 19, 2025.

Looking back a couple of years, anime fans had to wait months for an anime film to be released outside Japan. There were even times that anime movie theatrical runs don’t happen at all.

As such, the fact that the Chainsaw Man film’s cinema release is just over a month after its Japanese premiere is a big indication not only of the series’ popularity, but also how big anime has gotten internationally over the past few years.

For now, there’s no official release date yet for the Chainsaw Man movie in the Philippines, though we imagine that more info will be shared in the coming weeks or months.
